New Life Day Center is a day-time homeless shelter and connecting point. We first serve as an emergency daytime shelter to get homeless persons out of the weather and off the streets. Whether it is showing the love of Jesus Christ or connecting them to the local resources they need to exit life on the streets, we are here. With your help and support, we are one step closer to changing the landscape of homelessness in our community. Together, we can spread hope, change lives, and make a lasting impact in the lives of the most vulnerable in Lexington.
At New Life Day Center, we are seeking out the help of our community to make an impact with those that lack the necessities to live a fuller life. By building relationships and providing personalized assistance, we can empower our community to make a positive impact in getting individuals off the streets. It is no surprise that running a safe daytime refuge is costly, but we know the impact is far greater than the effort involved. No matter the type of involvement, we at New Life Day Center welcome individuals who want to help make a difference in the Lexington community.

Our mission at the NLDC is to end homelessness. However, our first and most important goal is to share the grace, love and salvation of Jesus Christ. Our center is not affiliated with any one church or denomination, but simply serves the community and shares our love for Jesus through each and every interaction. There is true freedom in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Whatever it is you are going through in life–homelessness, addiction, loss, unemployment, illness—we know that a personal relationship with Jesus is the answer.
What a difference a year can make! After attending classes at the NLDC for 3 months, Errol decided long-term recovery was his best shot at “new life”. We took Errol to Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis and he worked hard to get his life back in order. Errol now has completed the program, has two jobs, and is saving up to get into his own place.
Nearly two years ago, Carl came to NLDC. Over that time he tried to get his life back on track, but struggled with his alcohol addiction. Carl decided enough was enough and was determined to make a change. Carl recently graduated from a local rehabilitation facility and now has full time employment with Lextran. Carl has his own place now and has recently connected back with his kids and family!
Cynthia had not had an opportunity to do her laundry for 3 months. Lack of transportation and lack of funding contributed to this. Because of a recent partnership with Crestwood Christian Church bringing a new laundry program to NLDC, Cynthia was able to have clean laundry for the first time in months!
